Self taught artist Robin Fox was local to Scotland for over two decades, prior to relocating to Hexham, Northumberland in 2015 so as to focus on his passion for sculpting.
Reflected in his work is his strong feeling of connection to, and respect for, rural environments and the nature they cultivate. His work often centres around birds and animals, often seeking to place emphasis on their movements, expressions, posture and mannerisms.
His mixed media pieces are individually created, predominantly making use of metal modified epoxy clay alongside a diverse range of materials such as metal fillers, variegated silver and gold leaf and native hardwoods. Robin begins each process with an armature, gradually building his scultures in layers allowing for the development of finer details.
